著名诗人、学者、教育家、《世界文学》编委、前主编冯至先生因病于1993年2月22日在北京逝世,享年88岁。冯至先生1905年出生于河北涿州。他在文化学术上的建树是多方面的。1964年他出任外国文学研究所所长,即开始领导《世界文学》编辑部的工作,1965年兼任我刊主编。“文革”后,他又于1977年主持《世界文学》的复刊工作。1978年10月,《世界文学》正式复刊,冯至先生在中国文联第三届全国委员会第三次扩大会议上的发言《拨乱反正,开展外国文学工作》(见我 Renowned poet, scholar and educator, editorial boarder and editor in chief of World Literature, Mr. Feng Zhi died of an illness in Beijing on February 22, 1993 at the age of 88.
