Two doctors, Aldo Notargiacomo and Edward Freis, reported that weight loss appears to lower blood pressure, even as salt intake increases. In this study, two groups of calorie restriction diet were given in spontaneously hypertensive rats, but salt intake remained normal or increased. A group given normal food only twice a week.
