Nowadays, in the field of Japanese folklore, there are mainly two opinions about the development and formation of Japanese Obon festival. One thought that the Bon religion originated from the Bon country of China in the Sui and Tang dynasties while the second thought was that the Bon religion originated mainly from the primitive worship of the ancestor in Japan and was based on the original worship of ancestors Absorbed part of the Bon festival Sui and Tang Dynasties and became the present Obon Festival. By examining and analyzing Japan’s original worship of ancestors and the custom of the present-day Bon festival, the author believes that the second viewpoint is more likely to stand firm and gain a foothold. In addition, although China and Japan are waterfront ties with neighboring countries, there are still many obstacles to the mutual exchange between the two peoples. Including many students studying abroad for a long time still do not have a good understanding of the principles of Japanese behavior. To truly understand the ideology and behavior of Japanese people, we must first understand Japan’s traditional culture and the traditional Japanese culture behind the issue of faith. This is one of the significance of this article.
