Gestational diabetes mellitus (gestational diabetes mellitus, GDM) is the first time in pregnancy found or appear to varying degrees of impaired glucose tolerance. The incidence of 1% to 10%, can increase the rate of cesarean section, resulting in complications such as giant children and shoulder dystocia. GDM is predominantly insulin resistant with a rather complicated etiology. Flutin, a peptide expressed and secreted mainly by visceral adipose tissue, plays a role in glucose metabolism. Its pathophysiological role in the human body is still controversial, and most have not been fully understood. Recent studies have shown that visfatin is an adipocytokine closely related to the pathogenesis of GDM and has insulin-like activity and inflammatory cytokines.
