This article consists of four parts, mainly discussing the relationship between folk songs and ideology. The original intention of the writer’s writing is derived from discussions with folkloric, ethnic music and cultural scholars from China and the United States. It is also related to recent articles on interdisciplinary theories of culture and the arts. In recent 20 years, people have noticed increasing attention to ideological issues not only in the fields of political science and anthropology but also in the reflection and review of such fields as literature, cinema, popular culture, art of viewing and religious studies. Many modern Western theories have departed from the old concepts of thought, such as a coherent system of thought, rigid political dogma and false consciousness.
