This article describes a simple and accurate method for calibrating high-mercury chlorinated solutions. This new method is based on the release of hydrogen ions when hydrogen sulfide is reacted with high mercury and then titrated with standard sodium hydroxide. The authors used methyl violet as an indicator, the end point sensitive. Standard deviation of 0.1M and 0.01M chloride high mercury solution within ± 0.4%.
