高职应用英语专业具有跨学科性、专业宽口径、就业面广等特点。高职应用英语专业培养的应该是既懂英语,又懂商务的复合性、技能性、应用型人才,他们能够用英语交流、参与和从事国际商务活动。该专业学生应具备的职业能力应分解为:英语交际能力、商务沟通能力、商务业务能力、综合能力(即英语素质、商务素质和综合素质)。因此,其人才培养方案的制定也应根据市场的变化来满足以上需求。“以就业为导向,以培养学生的职业能力为主”来建设高职应用英语专业的关键在于适时改变人才培养方案。
