进入新世纪特别是党的十六大以来,广大新闻工作者紧紧围绕“三个代表”重要思想和十六大精神,紧密结合新形势、新任务的要求进行深入学习、观察和思考,更加明确了新时期新闻工作者的主要任务就是做好“党和人民的耳目喉舌”,即通过自己的工作,努力坚持马克思主义在意识形态领域的指导地位,不给错误思想和言论提供传播渠道及阵地；坚持正确的舆论导向,严格遵守政治纪律和宣传纪律；坚持党的新闻工作者的职业精神和职业道德。
Since entering the new century, especially the 16th CPC National Congress, the majority of journalists have been closely studying, observing and thinking more closely about the important thinking of the ’Three Represents’ and the spirit of the 16th Congress in light of the requirements of the new situation and new tasks.
