Gazprom’s natural gas export franchise is under increasing challenges as multi-stake heavyweights are using LNG to try to carve up the piece of cake for the Russian gas export market. On February 13, Russian President Vladimir Putin presided over the meeting of the Energy Strategy Committee directly under the President. Canceling the monopoly power of Russia’s LNG exports has become the focus of discussions at this meeting.
