Objective To observe the short-term clinical effect of glycididazole on sensitization of gastrointestinal cancer patients with retroperitoneal lymph node metastasis (radiotherapy). Methods Forty-two patients with gastrointestinal cancer with retroperitoneal lymph node metastasis from September 2006 to December 2009 were divided into control group and sensitization group. Three groups of patients were treated with three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy. During radiotherapy, Drop sodium glycididazole (800 mg · m-2). Two groups of patients before and after radiotherapy for clinical efficacy, pain relief, card score (Karnofsky score, KPS) comparison. Results The remission rates of the patients in the sensitized group and the control group at 3 months after radiotherapy were 52% and 24%, respectively. There was significant difference between the two groups (P <0.05). The oral morphine required daily before and after radiotherapy was 93 ± (12) mg and (42 ± 6) mg in the sensitized group and (94 ± 12) mg and (20 ± 5) mg in the sensitized group and 64 ± 5 and 80 ± 10 in the KPS group (65 ± 4) points and (90 ± 9) points, respectively, compared with those before radiotherapy, both P <0.01, while the KPS scores increased more significantly in the sensitized group, the amount of morphine required after radiotherapy decreased more, and the two groups were significantly Significance, P <0.01. Conclusion Sodium glycididazol radiosensitizing effect on gastrointestinal cancer patients with retroperitoneal lymph node metastasis and radiotherapy has significant effect on improving patients’ quality of life and relieving pain.
