为使电视接收机小形化,必须做到电器元件小形化。使显象管的厚度减小的同时,又要显象面大,为此人们发明了大偏转角显象管。然而大偏转角显象管的管长限于显象面对角线长度的50~60%。把显象管的厚度作得更薄就成为扁平显象管,它的长度应叫厚度,只及显象面对角线长度的10~25%。 显象管的扁平化有两种:用电子束偏转并扫描的扁平显象管和半导体的平板显示。在这里就前者给于叙述。
