东周小学曾经是深圳市两百多所农村学校中一所普普通通的小学。学校随波逐流,缺乏自己的主张。上轨道都难,更谈不上特色。“满堂灌”、“车轮战”、“题海战术”、“补课”、“拖堂”的做法屡禁不止,挖苦、辱骂、体罚的现象屡见不鲜。难道学生的成长注定就是痛苦的?难道是“只有痛苦今天,才能幸福明天”吗?有没有一种过程叫做快乐?有没有一种教育叫做享受?有没有一种成长叫做幸福?有没有一所学校叫做家园?我们在苦苦思索中。教育远离炼狱,学校才能成为家园。探索中,我发现,
