他在结束对黄山的考察时说:“我回去后立即写报告,积极向联合国教科文组织推荐。今年我要审查九个项目,黄山是唯一一个我现在就认为能通过的项目。”一九九○年五月十七日晚八时许,一架北京飞往黄山的MD—82飞机喷射着炽白的光芒,呼啸着冲向跑道,折向停机坪。乘客们风尘扑扑,步下飞机。当一位年约五十、仪度不凡的欧洲男子在国家建设部负责人陪同下走向出口时,迎候在这里的黄山市市长兼黄山风景区管理委员会主任季家宏走上前去,与他亲切握手致意。
