钚由于具有辐射毒性,是极为危险并能致癌的物质。铀化学毒性大,并能在短时间内产生严重肾功能障碍,并且在长期内辐照的情形下,还可能引发白血病和骨肉瘤。利用螯合剂促进锕系元素排泄的螯合治疗法是降低放射性核素危险的较好方法。
