At present, the United States Air Force is stepping up its research and development of military strategic and tactical relay satellites. The system is a global communications network of satellites, earth stations and terminals. The military satellite system plans to deploy seven satellites, of which four are in orbit and three are in orbit. Military Star will provide SHF and EHF anti-jamming communications to serve 4,000 users, including terminals, aircraft, ships, submarines, ground vehicles and mobile units. The system is scheduled to be deployed in the early 1990’s and will replace those UHF and SHF transponders that are subject to interference,
