用限制性核酸内切酶检测了在鸽子α2(1)胶原基因3′端中的高频率限制性片断长度多态性(RFLP)。在遗传易感的自发性动脉粥样硬化发展的White Carneau(WC)鸽子里分离的DNA中分析了等位基因的变异分布。通过成年WC鸽子腹主动脉壁胆固醇和胆固醇酯水平的测定衡量了个体鸽子致动脉粥样硬化的表型。主动脉壁胆固醇水平与病变大小及严重程度有关,但是在WC鸽子中原α2(1)
High-frequency restriction fragment length polymorphisms (RFLPs) in the 3 ’end of the pigeon α2 (1) collagen gene were detected by restriction endonucleases. Allelic variation distribution of alleles was analyzed in DNA isolated from the genetically predisposed Spontaneous Atherosclerosis White Carneau (WC) pigeons. Individual pigeon-induced atherosclerosis phenotypes were measured by determination of cholesterol and cholesterol ester levels in the abdominal aortic wall of adult WC pigeons.
