In August 2001, the Namibian Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) jointly evaluated whether Namibia eliminated neonatal tetanus (NT). NT was defined as having an incidence of 1/10 0 live births per NT district. Among countries in southern Africa, Namibia is the second after Zimbabwe to eliminate NT
