Many domestic media have translated a report from the United States, arousing widespread concern. According to the report, the latest research shows that while CT scanning can bring benefits to people, it also significantly increases the risk of canceration of the examinee. The U.S. radiologist David Brinah said that the radiation emitted during a whole-body CT scan is equivalent to 100 X-ray chest examinations similar to those received by atomic bomb survivors from Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan . According to Brina, one out of every 1200 people undergoing CT scans may have developed a tumor on examination, and those who do routine CT scans each year have a 1 in 50 . “The risk of a single scan is not great, but if you do it often, the chances of cancerous changes are much higher.”
