From the advent of the 1950s to today, the nuclear power industry has developed into an independent sector in many countries. According to statistics, at present, there are about 22 countries and regions around the world that have built various types of nuclear power plants, and at least 20 more countries are planning and starting construction. There are 200 nuclear power stations in the world with a total power of over 110 million kilowatts. There are about 300 planned and built. By the 1980s, the total power of nuclear power plants will reach 400 million kilowatts. The United States has the largest number of nuclear power stations, which has 72 seats. Another four will be put into operation before June this year. According to reports, nuclear power in the United States accounts for 13% of its total electricity. In the total Western nuclear power, the United States accounts for about half; other countries are Japan, West Germany, France and the United Kingdom. However, according to the average population, Sweden’s nuclear power ranks first in the world.
