对英德火炬松种子园227个无性系产果量问题的研究结果表明,无性系间、株间以及年度间产果量变异很大,差异显著;产果量性状与高、径、材积生长性状呈弱相关,前后年度间以及与3年平均产量间则高度相关。产果量重复力在0.6以上,3~4年球果观察资料可以判断无性系产果能力,从25%~30%高产优系中再选择建立改良代种子园,与受选群体均值比,能提高产量64%~145%,甚至更高。
