Historically, many scholars think that Huizong is a monarch who is addicted to art, plaything and lost his life, and because of his personal requirements, Huizong succeeded in the realistic style of his generation. However, the painting of Huizong was not merely a work of art. Huizong’s obsession with art was not merely because of his personal hobby, but of his political pursuits. Through the interpretation of “Listening to Music”, this paper argues that “listening to music ” is a kind of political enlightenment under the guidance of the king and minister. And by this piece of work extended to the emblem of the entire courtyard of Huizong dynasty, attempting to rebuild Huizong and the relationship between the hospital painting, to explore its political meaning.
