薄皮甜瓜,俗称梨瓜,是义乌市夏季的大众果品。该瓜单瓜重一般600～700克,果实扁圆至圆球形,果面平滑,近脐处有浅纵沟,脐大而平,绿白色,果肉白色或白略带红色,厚2～2.5厘米。果实中可溶性固形物和含糖量,随果实的发育而提高。适期采摘的瓜果肉质脆,品味佳,香甜可口,含糖量10%左右。种子小,乳白色,千粒重约10克。
