通信卫星系统设计的初期,设计师不仅应当满足用户提出的各种要求,而且必需协调不同要求所产生的种种矛盾。因此,要经常进行性能要求(如信道数量)和限制条件(如运载能力、投资总额)之间的权衡,以便确定系统的初步轮廓,作为深入分析和设计的基础。加拿大宇航有限公司(CAL)提出了一种估算通信卫星成本和重量的新的模化计算机程序(简称为CAL模化程序),帮助系统工程师进行设计权衡。
In the early days of communication satellite system design, designers should not only meet the various demands put forward by users, but also need to coordinate various contradictions arising from different requirements. Therefore, trade-offs between performance requirements (such as the number of channels) and constraints (such as carrying capacity and total investment) should often be conducted in order to determine the initial outline of the system as a basis for in-depth analysis and design. Canada Aerospace (CAL) proposed a new modular computer program (CAL modeling program) that estimates the cost and weight of a communications satellite to help system engineers make trade-offs.
