In the impact bending test, the impact toughness α_H and brittle critical temperature T_ (KP) depends largely on the sample geometry. However, systematic studies of the effect of sample thickness b (especially at b <10 mm) have not been performed. According to the provisions of the national standard of the Soviet Union 9454-60, the thickness of a test specimen made from rolled steel with a thickness greater than 10 mm shall be b = 10 mm (Class I);
