Immunology has developed very rapidly in the past decade. The classification of past allergy (now hypersensitivity) is generally based on the anatomical structure or on the basis of the nature of the allergen. Modern hypersensitivity is thought to be mediated through the interaction of exogenous or endogenous antigens with specific humoral antibodies or with specific sensitized lymphocytes. A variety of consequences of these effects can explain a variety of clinical manifestations. Therefore, the hypersensitivity process can be summarized in a very wide range of different diseases
