全球IPv6论坛主席Latif Ladid曾在“中国第三届全球IPv6高峰论坛”表示:“IPv4是把电脑与电脑连接起来,IPv6则是把人与人连接起来了!”第一代互联网美国军方从20世纪70年代开始正式进行开发建设,并于1994年正式投入商业运营。经过多年的发展,原来的IPv4地址协议的局限性已经比较明显,最主要的问题就是IP地址已经不能满足进一步发展的需要。于是,以IPv6为核心的下一代互联网(以下简称NGI)的研究建设也随之提上日程。基于128位编码的IPv6能产生2的128次方个IP地址,其地址资源极端丰富。
