Recently, Malaysian scientists reported the genomic sequence of two isolates of Nipah virus (Ni V) that broke out in Malaysia between 1998 and 1999 and caused 105 deaths. The genomes of these two viruses are composed of 182 46 nucleotides, and only 4 nucleotides differ between the two virus genomes. The genome of the Nipah virus is 12 times longer than the Hendra virus
