To study the phytochemical composition, a Soxhlet reflux extraction device is often used in the laboratory to extract plant constituents. This device is quite convenient for extraction with low-boiling solvent. Tang Tenghan et al. designed the Sabourah reflux extraction device to be placed in a decompression system. The solvent with higher boiling point can be used for reflux extraction at a low temperature, which overcomes the disadvantages of the inability of the Sabouraud extractor to be used in higher boiling solvents. However, the extract still needs to be stored in the heat receiver for a long time. This is the characteristic of the Sabouraud extraction device itself. In the study of chemical constituents of plants, in order to avoid that some chemical components can be destroyed due to prolonged thermal decomposition, the solvent is often used to seep at room temperature. This method has a large volume of immersion fluid and requires decompression.
