英汉两种语言历史悠久,包含着大量的习语,它们不仅言简意赅,而且形象生动,妙趣横生,给人一种美的享受。但由于地理、历史、宗教、生活习俗等方面的差异,英汉习语承载着不同的民族文化特色和文化信息,因此习语的翻译不仅要翻译出原语习语的形象、修辞方法,还要翻译出其民族特色和地方特色,并充分注重其文化差异。本文就英汉习语的文化差异及翻译的具体方法进行了探讨。
The two languages, English and Chinese, have a long history and contain a large number of idioms. They are not only concise but vivid and enjoyable. They give people a kind of beauty to enjoy. However, because of differences in geography, history, religion and customs, English and Chinese idioms carry different national and cultural characteristics and cultural information.
