泡沫塑料是一种新兴的高分子化合物的聚合多孔材料。以聚醚树酯和异氰酸酯为基料,辅以几种助剂,组成甲、乙两个组份。两组份药按一定配比混合,经过强力的搅拌,即可在极短的时间内发泡成型。主要的反应原理:1、异氰酸酯与水反应,生成二氧化碳而发泡。2、异氰酸酯与树酯的多羟基化合物反应生成高分子交链聚合物。聚合物链增长,并交联成网状结构,裹住 CO_2气体,而得到此较稳定的泡沫塑料体。
