在一切事业中贯彻全面节约精神,是当前工作中的一项极其重要的原则,我们小学教育工作者,同样应该积极研究贯彻。由于各个地区、各个学校的具体情况不同,节约的方法会多种多样,节约的措施也会各有重点,因此,我们在这里提出来讨论的问题,不一定就是每一个学校都要解决的问题,而仅仅是几个比较带有普遍性的问题。 (一)提高现有校舍设备的利用率,多招学生问题:在发挥现有师资、设备、校舍的潜在力量,增加学额方面,已经取得了一定的成绩,以一九五三年和一九五四年相比较,全省通过挖掘现有校舍设备潜在力量而增加的学生有八万四千多人,少数地区校舍设备的利用率已比较高。但是,还有大部分地区,设备的利用率还很低,依据一九五四年学年初统计报表反映的情况来看,高低还很悬殊。以直属市为例:
