An important immunological phenomenon in mouse schistosomiasis is the regulatory effect of spontaneously attenuating the intensity of granulomatous reactions in the liver, lung and colon mucosa during the schistosomal infection phase, and is now believed to be based on a delayed type hypersensitivity reaction. The authors injected Schistosoma japonicum (Kofu strain) eggs into the superior mesenteric vein of mice to induce tolerance. Two weeks after portal vein sensitization, ddY male mice were dorsolateral injected subcutaneously with equal doses of Freund’s complete adjuvanted Schistosoma japonicum eggs. After 7 days, they were injected with PBS solution on the left hind footpad, and footpad swelling reaction was observed 24h after antigen injection. In order to determine whether the mouse foot pad swelling reaction with the blood
