“家训”一词,最早出现在《后汉书·文苑传下·边让》:“髫龀夙孤,不尽家训。”[1]但最先以“家训”为名的书则是南北朝时期颜之推的《颜氏家训》。《辞海》解释:“家训,父母对子女的训导。”它一方面是家族族长对整个家族成员的约定或教化,另一方面也是家庭内部父母关于治家教子的训诫。[2]家训是一种一般性的劝诫,一般不带有强制性。其主要内容涉及勉学励志、齐家兴业、修身养性、报国安民等方面,一般从品德的教育入手。[3]
