氰对人休的毒性极大,微量氰的测定在环境监测中具有重要意义。目前测定氰常用光度法,采用极谱法测定的报导较少。 ToponoBa等人在乙二胺-镍络合物介质中,利用极谱催化波测定了微量氰离子。赵藻藩等人的研究报告指出,在α,α联吡啶-钴-乙醇胺体系中,氰离子产生一个比较灵敏的极谱催化波,而且在一定浓度范围内,氰离子浓度与峰电流有关。据推测,可能是反应过程中形成了具有催化活性的联吡啶-钴-乙醇
