《2020年前军队院校教育改革和发展规划纲要》明确指出:“部分军事技能型教员岗位改山士官担任,探索上官教员专业技术职务评任制度。”当前,随着任职教育转型的深入发展,实践性教学比重持续加大。为实现教员队伍结构整体优化,武警边防部队士官学校及时调整思路,整合教育资源,变向外借力为向内挖掘,挑选专业技能过硬。综合素质较高的士官担任小教员。目前,这个学校已有9名士官走上讲台,活跃在教学一线,成为课堂上一道独特的风景线。
