Radiation damage of material is one of the major technological problems in design of fusion reactors. Since the first wall is struck by α particles and 14 MeV neutrons created by D-T burning, thermal plasma and neutral atoms, study of the first wall radiation damage becomes very important. Radiation damage of the wall materials are divided into two aspects: bulk and surface damage. Surface damage of the first wall caused by α particle bombardment has already attrracted much attention in research of the fusion reactors.
