The Unrealized Love is a novella that reflects the life of the writer. It shows us an area of life in which readers are interested. In this work, the author recounts memories of the past and depicts the misfortune of failure and love afflicted by the famous writer Cheltenoff in the whole country. His pain and regret and his reflection on the meaning of life are emphasized. At the same time, the author again links the two clues of creation and love, further revealing that Chernyshev’s tragedy lies in his separation from the people and life, his fear of hard work and the lure of fame and money. As young car workers do not do a good job, “You do not understand our life, you do not understand it because you do not love it.” Chernyshev’s partner Kuprick is an intriguing figure in his work and a striking image of contemporary Soviet literature. This so-called “agent for literary affairs” is in fact a vandalized literary bachelor. The author’s portrayal of this image, as well as Chernyov’s consistent relationship with him, is intended to show that Chernatsov’s tragedy is not only due to the individual character of the writer, but also has profound social causes. Healthy literary criticism and literary genres can create the genius of literature. Vulgar literary criticism and literary genres can easily ruin the genius of literature. This is the truth repeatedly revealed to us by countless facts in the history of literature.
