Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of microvessel density (MVD) and β-catenin protein in bladder transitional cell carcinoma. Methods Immunohistochemical SP method was used to detect the expression of CD105-labeled MVD and β-catenin in 10 cases of normal bladder mucosa and 52 cases of bladder transitional cell carcinoma. Results The MVD values of CD105 in 10 cases of normal bladder mucosa and 52 cases of bladder transitional cell carcinoma were 1.78 ± 1.28 and 19.22 ± 10.16, respectively. The abnormal expression rates of β-catenin protein in grade Ⅰ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ bladder transitional cell carcinoma The rates of abnormal expression of β-catenin protein in bladder transitional cell carcinoma (90.6%, 29/32) were significantly higher than that in the invasive group (50.0%, 10.9%, 80.9% and 100.0% In the superficial group (45.0%, 9/20), the MVD in β-catenin-overexpressing cancer tissues was significantly higher than that in normal subjects. Conclusions MVD is one of the factors affecting the prognosis of BTCC. Β-catenin may play a role in the microvessel formation in transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder.
