The art of theater in the United States and Wei Ben’s creation can be said to be the most closely related to the social and economic conditions. Curiously, the economic downturn does not seem to have affected the survival of American drama. During the Great Depression in the 1920s and 1930s, not only did the theater not collapse completely, but it even developed. This is not without reason. In the past, the theater was rich entertainment for the rich. The Great Depression caused the troupes to merge and reorganize and at the same time triggered the social awareness of dramatists and theatrical workers.
