三十烷醇是一种天然的生长调节剂,和其它植物生长调节剂相比,它有自己的特点:①广谱性。在植物2—3叶真叶期施用能不同程度地提高黄瓜、玉米、大豆、胡萝卜、水稻、西红柿、小麦、菜豆等的产量。②对植物代谢有多方面影响。如增加千重、叶面积、还原糖浓度、自由氨基酸、可溶性蛋白氮以及还原氮的水平,促进蛋白质的合成率。③发生作用快。施用后几分钟到几十分钟内就可显效。④用量小。0.1—1微克/升即可稳定增加玉米和水稻干重,对环境没有污染。 但应用中存在的问题是效果不稳定,可靠性差,田间试验与温室试验有很大差距,有时甚至全无效果。其原因系由于其效应易受许多生物学和物理学因素的影响。如喷药
