Present state and technology development of three kinds of motor springs were analysed in this paper,and the high-stress and light weight developing tendency was discovered.However,the properties of available materials used for high-stress spring production has reached the limitation.Therefore,researches for new material are urgent and began in last century in Japan.By contrast,the effort in this field is still rare in China.In this paper,the possible alloying elements are analysed,taking the domestic resources into account. Composition and smelting requirement of new brand steels are put forward.In addition,the application perspective of bainitic steel is discussed.
