锰矿中(特别是碳酸锰)除了测定锰以外,一般还要测定氧化钙。测定氧化钙的方法,一般是先将铁,铝,锰等分离,然后作草酸钙的沉淀,以容量法测定。锰的测定则多用氧化锌法或高硫酸铵法,但也有把锰变为二氧化锰,再以亚铁盐或草酸定量。这个几乎被忘记了的方法,根据我们的试验,如用标准锰矿来标定所用的滴定溶液,亦可得到符合要求的结果。我们提起使锰变成二氧化锰来测定锰,是为了利用测定氧化钙时所必需除去的锰(呈二氧化锰的形态),将它溶解在一定量的草酸溶液中,然后以高锰酸钾回滴,这样可以比任何测定锰的方法都可节省时间2~3倍。现将分析手续略述如下。
