1994年4月25日至28日,由中国和加拿大合作举办的“国际发展农业保险学术研讨会”（ISAID’94）在位于陕西杨陵农科城的西北农业大学举行。这是在我国召开的第一次国际农业保险学术会议,在亚洲也是首次。这次会议是由访加学者西北农业大学经贸学院庹国柱教授与加拿大曼尼托巴大学教授Martin H.Yeh等同仁共同发起和申办的,它得到了中加两国政府的支持和批准。会议的主办单位是加拿大曼尼托巴大学、中国西北农业大学和华中农业大学。出席本会议的代表共有90余人,其中海外代表18人。国内代表主要是高等农业院校、财经院校和科研院（所）的学者,财政部、农业部等部门政府官员,中国人民保险公司系统的有关专家。海外代表主要是美国、加拿大和台湾等地区高等院校的资深教授和政府部门主管农业保险的官员、专家,以及加拿大两个省农作物保险公司的研究人员。
From April 25 to April 28, 1994, the “International Symposium on Agricultural Insurance for International Development” (ISAID’94) jointly organized by China and Canada was held at Northwestern Agricultural University in Yangling Agricultural Science City, Shaanxi Province. This is the first international conference on agricultural insurance held in our country and the first in Asia. The meeting was initiated and co-sponsored by visiting Canadian scholar Professor Guo Guozhu from Northwestern Agricultural University and Martin H. Yeh, a professor at the University of Manitoba in Canada, which won the support and approval of the governments of China and Canada. The conference organizers are Manitoba University, Northwest China Agricultural University and Huazhong Agricultural University. A total of more than 90 representatives attended the meeting, including 18 overseas representatives. Domestic representatives are mainly senior agricultural academies, academies of finance and economics and research institutes (academics), Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agriculture and other government officials, the Chinese People’s Insurance Company system of experts. Overseas representatives are mainly senior officials and government departments of agriculture insurance officials and experts from universities and colleges in the United States, Canada and Taiwan, as well as researchers from crop insurance companies in Canada’s two provinces.
