工业化以来所形成的消费社会中,消费由对实际产品的消耗延伸至对产品所负载的意义和符号的消耗,需求也由对实体产品功能的需求而延伸至对其所承载的意义的需求。由于“心理贫困”的存在,需求转变成了欲望。消费欲望的无限性和资本逻辑对利润追求的无限性成为设计异化的根本原因。在这双重压力下,本应为人类更好生活服务的设计异化为为消费欲望和资本利润服务,而这种异化造成的最为明显的后果是对自然的索取和破坏,设计成了不可持续发展方式的“帮凶”。
