1 前言以视频信号数字传送为目的的编码技术的研究已得到了很大发展。随着电视会议等业务需求明显增多,以及数字传送网络的配备,卫星通信的实用化,视频信号编码装置正在迎来真正的实用期。对于需要传送波形的视频信号来说,最好是采取数字传送方式。编码的目的就在于通过数字处理来克服视频信号的宽带性,在保证传送信息量的基础上尽量降低传送费用。由于作为编码对象的广播信号或者电视会议信号等信号类别不同,要求的编码条件(高质量、大压缩比)不一样,所采用的编码算法也有所不同。但基本上是利用视频信号的统计特性和人眼视觉特性除去信号中的多余度,降低传送比特率。最近一个时期视频信号编码特征动向是,各国都在积极开发利用电视会议信号特性的帧间编码装置,同时应用这些编码装置开展图象通信业务。例如,继美国(ATT)
1 Introduction The research on coding technology for the purpose of digital transmission of video signals has been greatly developed. As demand for video conferencing and other services has increased significantly, as well as the deployment of digital transmission networks and the practical application of satellite communications, video signal coding devices are ushering in a real and useful period. For the need to send the waveform of the video signal, it is best to take digital transmission. The purpose of coding is to overcome the wideband nature of the video signal by digital processing and to minimize the transmission cost while guaranteeing the amount of information to be transmitted. The encoding requirements (high quality, large compression ratio) are different depending on the signal types such as broadcast signals or video conference signals to be encoded. The encoding algorithm used is also different. However, the statistical properties of the video signal and the human visual characteristics are basically used to remove redundancy in the signal and reduce the transmission bit rate. In the recent period, the characteristic of video signal coding is that all countries are actively developing inter-frame coding devices that utilize the characteristics of video conferencing signals and applying these coding devices to carry out video communication services.
