70年代以来随着PGI_2与TXA_2的研究不断深入,人们对这两种物质的认识发生了根本的变化。79年Samuelson等又阐明了花生四烯酸(AA)的又一组衍生物白三烯(Leukotrienes.LT_s),从此前列腺素(PG_s)及其衍生物的研究进入了新时代,尤其是PGI_2与TXA_2与冠心病的关系倍受人们重视。不少人认为PC_s对于动脉粥样硬化,诱发冠状动脉痉挛以及心肌梗塞有一定作用,甚至认为心肌缺血、心绞痛及心肌梗塞实际是在局部PGI_2和TXA_2水平失衡的基础上发生的。目前争论的焦点也是心肌缺血或梗塞时PGI_2与TXA_2的水平失衡与否。
