It has been reported that ginseng leaves contain a polysaccharide (GL-4IIb2) that promotes the expression of macrophage Fc receptors. It has been clarified that the polysaccharide has a structure similar to that of the plant cell wall polysaccharide, rutin galacturonic acid polysaccharide II (RG-II). There are at least four RG-II-like polysaccharides in ginseng leaves, and the leaves contain a large amount of free RG-II-like polysaccharides. This study compared the structure and pharmacological activities of four RG-II-like polysaccharides in ginseng leaves. Four RG-II-like polysaccharides (GL-4IIb2, GL-5IIc1-B, GL-5IIc2-B, and GL-5IId1-B) in ginseng leaves contain 2-methyl-fucose, 2-methyl-wood Sugar, celery
