混凝土轨枕线路具有轨面稳定、维修养护工作量小的特点,它是比较受欢迎的一种线路结构。但目前国内生产的各类轨枕,是一种有挡肩的结构,它在运营线上,最突出的缺点是在小半径曲线上不能保持轨距。铺设在小半径曲线上的轨枕,在上道几个月后,轨枕的挡肩往往被挤坏。早在1961年就发现铺设在我段管内浙赣线K7公里(R=335米)曲线的混凝土轨枕,使用不到两年轨枕挡肩破损已达52%,轨距扩大,危及行车安全,不得不全数换铺木枕。
