Supplementation of calcium through diet can reduce the incidence of colorectal tumors in rats, but also reduce the regeneration of intestinal cells in humans or animals. The authors used Sprague-Dawley rats (n = 99) divided into two groups. A group of 80% for small intestine resection, the other group for jejunal transection. Half of each animal in the drinking water added calcium lactate 24g / l. Stool was collected 7 weeks after surgery to determine free bile acids and free fatty acids. Colonic mucosa of the control group was continuously cultured in 3 different concentrations of calcium and subsequently measured by the mitotic disruption method (Stathmokinetic)
