The November 1948 International Children’s Day came to the world. In November 1944, the International Federation of Democratic Women held a board meeting in Moscow, Russia. In order to protect the children’s right to life, health care and education, and oppose the imperialist war-mongers to kill and poison children, the meeting decided to set June 1 as the International Children’s Day. In order to cultivate the proletarian internationalism of young children and strengthen friendship with children and adolescents in various countries, the Chinese government decided in December 1949 to replace the original “4/4” Children’s Day with the “61” International Children’s Day. Since then, every year on this day, children and children in China will have to celebrate their holidays together with children from all over the world.
